  • What do we wear?

    - You should wear anything you’d normally wear in your everyday life. Kids can show up in stained shirts or dinosaur costumes, I think it’s all part of your story as a family.

Our house is messy and we don’t like having photos of it. Can we meet elsewhere?

    - Documentary style photography is aimed at capturing your family life in the places that it happens - messy houses and all. I love taking photos in people’s homes because it is the most personal, but I am open to any other places you enjoy spending time in. We can definitely talk about this. :)

What happens if we are having a hard day and kids are not in a great mood?

    - This is all a part of your story as a family and I think it’s beautiful to have memories of how you’ve showed up for each other during tough times. I think as a parent, you will appreciate looking back at strength and resilience it took to raise a family. I believe it’s something to celebrate, not hide!

My kids are camera shy and don’t like having their photos taken. What can we do?

    - The first thing I do upon arrival is spend some time with the kids, camera away, just letting them get to know me. It may take 2 min or it may take 25min, but I think it’s important for them to feel comfortable around me. Ultimately, kids will follow your cues and if you feel relaxed around me, eventually they will too. It helps that they don’t have to pose or be directed by me in any way.
Lastly, I am open to discussing other strategies that would be helpful for your family. I am all about finding ways to make it work for your family needs.

Special Events

“Sara somehow managed to capture each key moment without disrupting the vibe. Nothing felt forced, and it was such a wonderful thing to just BE in the moment, knowing that it was being saved to enjoy later, too.” - Jackie

  • - These sessions are ideal for special events, whether it is a big wedding, or an intimate family celebration.

    - My approach is documentary style, meaning I don’t disrupt the flow of the event for posing. I take photos of you all enjoying your special time. At the beginning or end, I can take some posed photos that we agree upon before the event. The majority of my work will be documenting.

  • Investments will depend on the length, size, and location of the event. Please send me the details and I will be able to provide a quote.
